Rolf picked up 4000 staples saturday between other tasks. Sunday panel #10 was all planked. 5 hours from start to finish. Not bad I think.
Next weekend it would be great to have #11 out of 12 planked.
Winter has come and temperature in the workshop dropped quite a bit with the snow. We have got our hands on a bit of bubble wrap and will try that on the single pane window and the garage port.
Since first of august we have 116,5 hours in the project. Most of it spent on producing hull panels, ripping planks etc. It is good to get some progress, even if the number of hours spent on the project is substantial.

Hi:
I just ran across your blog. Interesting project.
Where did you get the plans from?

Sorry for the delay.
There are no plans, but we got the cross sections for the mould from Phill Brander, the designer of the Blade F16. Phill is a good friend and that is the only reason he shared those with me.
If you want to homebuild a F16, go with the plywood plans supplied by Phill! Much faster and easier to build.
Rolf, it's great work!
Can you publish more photos of building process? Thanks.
What do you want pics of Alexey? So far we have been doing hull panels so the pics from the start of the blog is still descriptive of what we are doing now. With panel #10 well on the way we are seeing the end of the hull panel phase so some more interesting pics should come soon.
The strip plank buildingprocess is well described here: http://thomassondesign.com/building.aspx
Hi Rolf!
I see you came to panel#10 in late November, and the blog telling that you will get to the finish of the project in Spring. I seem to remember having heard that last sentence some other winter too, so my impertinent question is just - is that the spring of 2010?:) Anyway, you have a very interesting project going on. I think it would be terrific if you could come to Trondheim and meet the people who now are making an effort to revive dinghy sailing here, as well as the local multihullers - and tell about your project. Belonging to both groups, as well as having some tiny experience with strip plank boatbuilding, I would be very happy if that could come true. How are the chances for that?
The blog moved down on the list of items with high priority, thats why there have been few updates.
Panel 11 is half-planked. The inside of panel 10 is glassed and moved to storage. We have got all the plywood for bulkheads and decks delivered. And we have made another test-tube in the mould for beams. So we are still quite active. Tomorrow night I plan to finish planking panel no. 11. The goal is to be sailing this spring, definately.
As for me coming to Trondheim to talk about the project before it is finished.. No chance, there is no time :-)
After the project is done, it is a "probably not". I prefer to get a new project underway or go sailing.
OK, understanding your priorities!:) But I'll keep in touch. Maybe some Trondheim people instead rather should come to Molde (Muhammed) some day and go sailing?
If you put on an interesting event up there, chances are good we will be there :-) That could be an convenient combo on presenting our project in an enjoyable context.
